Brandee Hancock was appointed as Interim General Counsel for the Board of Regents effective March 1, 2026. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts and from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2012 with a Juris Doctor with Honors.

Before joining the Board’s Office of Legal Counsel, she practiced as an associate with Ellis & Ellis in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where she focused on estate and business planning. Since joining the Board as Staff Attorney in 2014, she has advanced in her career and has served as Deputy General Counsel for the past six years. During her tenure with the Board, Brandee has become a trusted advisor to Oklahoma A&M System institutions and colleagues statewide, demonstrating excellence in her knowledge and experience in the broad range of legal issues facing higher education.

Brandee routinely provides training within the A&M System and across the State of Oklahoma on topics ranging from the First Amendment to Title IX. She has co-authored several articles in the Oklahoma Bar Journal on higher education issues, including Title IX and liquidated damages in coaching contracts. In May 2017, she received the Impact Award from the Oklahoma College Student Personnel Association.
