Administrative Assistant

The Office of Legal Counsel to the OSU/A&M Board of Regents is accepting resumes for a highly responsible position as an Administrative Assistant. This position requires excellent receptionist, clerical, computer, and communication skills, involves interacting with members of the public and University community, and the ability to achieve and maintain the trust and confidence of superiors. Preferred qualifications include three years receptionist and clerical experience and the ability to work at times under limited direction and supervision.  Professional image and a high school diploma/GED are required.  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with OK Corral, Works (for P-Card), AIRS and Banner systems, as well as bookkeeping experience to include budget reconciliation and expense tracking using Microsoft Excel.  Handling confidential information and exercising delegated responsibility and independence in many administrative matters ranging from routine to extremely sensitive is essential.

Staff Attorney

The Office of Legal Counsel to the OSU/A&M Board of Regents has an opening for an entry-level Staff Attorney.  The position will report to and receive assignments from the General Counsel, will render legal advice and serve as a higher education generalist, dealing with a wide variety of legal issues, including, but not limited to, student conduct, faculty discipline, employment law, regulatory compliance, real estate transactions, contracts and litigation.  Candidates with experience or aptitude in real estate transactions or employment law will be given special consideration.  The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and J.D./LL.B. degree from an accredited law school, membership in good standing in the Oklahoma Bar, and zero (0) to five (5) years legal experience.  The position also requires a demonstrated capability for legal research, analysis and reasoning, superior oral and written communication skills, project management skills, an ability to identify and resolve complicated and sensitive problems creatively and with professional discretion, and an ability to interact and function effectively in an academic community.  Salary commensurate with experience.

Paralegal/Legal Assistant

The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will be located at the OSU-CHS campus in Tulsa and will support two attorneys who primarily practice health and higher education law. This position will be responsible for administering a contract lifecycle management software system. Other duties will include, but will not be limited to, administrative and ministerial duties, litigation and administrative hearing support, reviewing standard contracts and drafting documents under the supervision of an attorney, communicating with clients across several campus locations, and maintaining Office of Legal Counsel files in conjunction with the Stillwater office.  Handling confidential information and exercising delegated responsibility and independence in many matters ranging from routine to extremely sensitive are essential. This position requires an associate's degree from a college or technical trade school or equivalent experience and at least one (1) year of experience in a law firm or legal office. Candidates must have excellent organizational, time management, communication, and proofreading skills. In addition, the candidate must be a team player and extremely detail-oriented, self-sufficient and be able to perform ancillary administrative duties for non-legal needs, be technically proficient and adept with different software, and be able to learn and operate software quickly and efficiently.  Preference will be given to candidates who have a bachelor's degree, three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, and is a certified paralegal, certified legal assistant, or professional paralegal through an ABA Paralegal Program or obtained certification through NALA, NFPA, or NALS.
