Board of Regents Review of Personnel Actions for OSU Constituent Budget Agencies



Prior Board of Regents Approval Required

The following personnel actions shall be included in the Board of Regents agenda for approval prior to implementation except for separation, retirement, and death which are included as information items only.



All regular, continuous faculty actions including clinical and research faculty that grant, potentially grant, or have already granted tenure, including appointment, reappointment, tenure, promotion and the following:

All permanent personnel actions concerning presidents, provosts, vice presidents, deans, and head coaches or those equivalent in title.

All other personnel actions do not require prior Board of Regents approval and are vested with the President of Oklahoma State University, or appropriate designees, for decision and action on all such personnel matters, subject to general superintending control and approval of the Board of Regents.  Personnel changes authorized by the President or designed will be subject to the total personnel budget authority provided by the Board of Regents during the annual budgeting process.


Interim Approval by the Chief Executive Officer

Periodically, interim approvals by the Board of Regents Chief Executive Officer (CEO) may be necessary. Presidential approval is required before submitting these requests to the CEO. The CEO’s interim approval is subject to Board of Regents ratification.


Board of Regents Reporting



A monthly listing of new positions established at OSU will be provided to the Board of Regents as information.



A quarterly summary of FTE employment provided to the State Regents will be included in the Board of Regents agenda as an information item.
